ABOUT US

Our basic curriculum at Yoshin Dojo is based upon various arts that we have studied and received licensing in.  The basics taken from the arts serves as a basis which offers our students self protection skills and builds their skill set to prepare them for advanced training in the older arts (Koryu).
 
Classes include instruction in unarmed arts (Throws, strikes, locks, pins and chokes) and a variety of weapons arts (Sword, Staff, chain, shuriken, binding etc).  Our system is all inclusive.

OUR ARTS

  1. JUJUTSU 
Japanese/Brazilian
    JUJUTSU Japanese/Brazilian
    We have a unique system that combines Japanese Jujutsu and Gracie JJ. Our focus is on self protection while exploring the limits of our body and mind through unarmed and weapons arts. Our instructors have Blackbelts in both Japanese Jujutsu and BJJ.
  2. Hontai Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu
    Hontai Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu
    An older Japanese Samurai martial art. The school includes a variety of unarmed, weapons, first aid and esoteric arts. Our main instructor has obtained the highest license in this school and awards formal licensing (Makimono) to dedicated students.
  3. Kukishin Ryu Bojutsu
    Kukishin Ryu Bojutsu
    Another older Samurai tradition with focus on Staff and sword arts. The system also includes various historical teachings (Kuden). Our head instructor has obtained the highest license in this school and awards formal licensing (Makimono) to dedicated students.
  4. Araki Ryu Kempo
    Araki Ryu Kempo
    A complete system from Sengoku Jidai founded by Araki Mujinsai Minamoto no Hidenawa. The system includes torite, kempo, kogusoku, bojutsu, kenjutsu, Nagamaki, Chigiriki, Kusarigama and various other arts. Our dojo is a branch group of the hombu in Gunma prefecture Japan.
  5. Masaki Ryu Kusarijutsu
    Masaki Ryu Kusarijutsu
    Masaki-ryu Kusarijutsu draws its lineage back to Masaki Toshimitsu, martial arts instructor to the Mino province Ogaki clan during the Edo period. Our school preserves and trains in martial arts including manrikigusari (short chain), kusarigama (chain and sickle), Oniwaban, Maruhoshi and Jutte torinawa (arresting truncheon and cord).
