REKISHI
This Ryuha traces its roots back to Takagi Orieumon Shigetoshi of the Takagi Ryu Jujutsu (see Hontai Yoshin Takagi Ryu). The creator of this system is Kitada Kazuhiro who studied with Minaki Saburo of the Hontai Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu. The Yamato Yoshin Ryu (sometimes read as Daiwa Yoshin Ryu) is comprised of various teachings from Minaki sensei and these teachings were later restructured into what is still taught today in Hyogo ken by Imai Toshiro Daishin. The school is made of the six basic skills of jujutsu. These areas of study include Gyaku (joint locks), Nage (throwing), Shime (choking), Toritsuke (tying or binding) and Ate (striking). Currently both the dan and den level licensing are used and awarded to students that have been initiated into the secrets of this ryu. Special thanks to my Budo friend Kazu A. for his research help.
This Ryu is comprised of:
Jujutsu:
Gyaku: omote and ura, Nage: Omote and ura, Muto Dori
Kukishin Ryu Chobo and Hanbo, Keibojutsu.
Kodachi: Omote and Ura, Nito Kodachi.
